CHS Spezialcontainer Shelter & Engineering GmbH is your reliable partner for the maintenance and repair of special containers and technical equipment. With many years of experience and a dedicated team, we offer customized solutions for the specific requirements of our customers in various industries.
Our services
In addition to the construction of new special containers, we also offer you a comprehensive service. We carry out repairs, carry out conversions on existing containers, carry out regular maintenance and care or renew approvals such as the CSC. It doesn’t matter whether the work is carried out at your premises, at our factory, abroad or in security areas – we are there for you!
Maintenance and repair in nuclear power plants
Our qualified technicians specialize in the maintenance and repair of nuclear power plants. CHS is in possession of a §25 license and is therefore able to carry out work within the monitored areas. The employees deployed are subject to radiation protection monitoring and have been checked for reliability in accordance with the Atomic Energy Act.
The following activities are carried out, among others: Inspection of the containers and damage assessment, replacement of seals, replacement of door and roof closures, repair/replacement of damaged sheet metal and beams if necessary, as well as painting work. The containers used there are used to dismantle nuclear power plants and can often hold slightly radioactive components.
Maintenance and repair framework agreements for military containers
As part of the container system solutions we build, CHS can take over the maintenance and servicing of a wide variety of container systems. We offer the following services, among others:
- Nationwide deployments at the various military locations and within Bundeswehr barracks
- Maintenance, testing and calibration of tools requiring testing to ensure full operational readiness
- Carrying out DGUV-V3 inspections
- Inspection of steps and ladders in accordance with DGUV 208-016
- CSC inspections by qualified personnel
- Maintenance and testing of generators
- Carrying out minor repairs on site
- Maintenance and testing of consumables
- Documentation of the examination papers
This enables us to ensure that our container systems are always ready for use for our customers.
Repair of IP-2 containers at the Bremen site
If repair work on standard or IP-2 containers cannot be carried out at the nuclear power plant due to damage(s), we also offer all work at our site in Bremen
This requires the containers to be cleared by the power plant’s radiation protection department so that they can be processed at our plant.
A corresponding measurement protocol in accordance with §58 StrlSchV is required.
Thanks to our cranes, machines, systems and paint booths, we have more extensive repair options than on site at our customers’ premises.
CHS has the necessary and qualified personnel to repair these containers as well.
Repair and spare parts
We also regenerate and repair special containers that we did not build ourselves. This includes, for example, regular maintenance and repair of satellite containers for a German aerospace company.
We also overhaul outdated container systems. After an on-site assessment at the customer’s premises, an offer is drawn up. The customer’s fixtures and fittings are then often removed from the system. For this purpose, we collect the system and repair it at our factory in Bremen. A possible scope of services is also the renewal of the electrical installation or the air conditioning technology.
As a rule, repair work consists of renewing the corrosion protection, repairing external mechanical damage, maintaining and repairing flaps and hinges and upgrading the container fittings.
We supply our customers with spare parts for our containers even years after delivery. For example, defective or damaged door panels, air conditioning units or various other spare parts for the delivered container are clearly identified on the basis of an article list and sent by us for repair by the customer or can also be integrated by our service technicians at the container’s place of use.
